2012 Acura TL here I come.....

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say that I am going to be joining the TL family very shortly. A 2012 TL Bellanova White Pearl AWD Automatic with the technology package, Ebony Interior with the underbody spoilers installed. I am pretty excited because back in 2008, I was debating between the TSX and the TL but decided toward the TSX with the aerokit (PWP with Ebony Interior). I leased the TSX and this car has not seen one drop of rain and has crazy low mileage! I am going to buy that one out and give it to a friend of mine and will make room for my new TL. I am super excited and will post pictures when it sits in my driveway. I am not quite sure the "out of the door" price will be and won't be financing it either so I don't really care about the finance rate since its going to be a cash deal.

Who says life ends at 40?!

Well, the whole account thing is a long convulated story but suffice to say that thsi will be the account I will be using from now ( I had another one I used a while back for my TSX). I know I don't contribute as much to the forum as other members do, I do like to come and read and gather information and when something really fires me up, I do pass along my comments

Thanks for the congrats and I am very excited and look forward to it!

Some of us older folks might argue. I'll be 65 in May and yesterday (3/19) I traded in our '08 TL w/Nav with only 8,700 miles on it for a new '12 w/Tech package and wrote a check for the difference. With age comes the final exodus of all the children, everyone is through school and now, by God, it's our turn at the trough.

We're spending our children's inheritance!!

Ha ha ha ... well good for you and too bad for your kids!! We don't have kids and are both have amazing jobs so money wise, we are doing very well. Although I don't worry about kids draining my resources, its my aging parents I am starting to worry about....I might have to spend my hard earned money on diapers afterall *LMAO*

That will be a nice ride....I am getting excited about getting mine too. The only question I have is why or how were you able to get it for 41000$ when the web site says that they are starting at 45000$ The 41000$ seems to be the non SHAWD....did you get the information correctly? If so, you got a great deal considering this is the 2012!

Wow, that is a smoking price.

I got the 2010 TL 6MT when it was first released, and I paid nearly full MSRP (considering the first 2 6MTs the stealership had were already preordered and presold at full MSRP).

$41k for a 2012 Advance at such an early date is awesome. Did you use any special buying program? The ventilated seats, BSMS, and Song by voice are features I wish the 6MT had.

I think the pricing might involve a $1500 lease loyalty credit or maybe a trade in which can affect the numbers and on top of that I think there is a loyalty rebate going on as well for $1500. Maybe some of our dealer members know more.

MSRP $45,085. Dealer said he had $4000 to play with. No money changed hands yet, but we sealed the deal with a handshake. Don't expect that the numbers will change once the car hits the ground.

Good, that's the way it should be. They should learn to earn on their own as opposed to someone giving them money. I definately have this attitude and I am only 48. I have other freinds who are saving it for their kids. Utterly stupid IMHO.

On the white.. body side molding look pretty good IMO.. not to mention they actually do save your paint most of the time and are considered "conservative".. I plan on getting them on mine

Personally I like the clean lines of the side of the car. I think the body side moulding breaks it up.

I agree here.

IMHO, the body side mouldings would work well if one would to get the mouldings along with the underbody spoilers.

YOu took the words right out of my mouth. When you go the Acura site and build your car, adding the underbody spoilers (front, rear and side), I find that putting the body moldings really makes it look nice. Almost as if the rear underbody spoiler flows into the side moldings.

I am planning on putting all underbody moldings and the side ones.....I think she is going to be a sweet ride. I have test driven it yet, I am a bit worried about the 6-speed pinging that people have experienced in the ZDX and MDX but no pain no gain right?!

I went on the Acura site and built the car I want with the moulding and underbody kit.. I like it. The side mouldings flow with the back part of the spoiler.

I tried to get a screen shot of the car from Acura.com but couldn't

Hard to tell, but from what I can see on the Acura site, I'm not real thrilled with the rear underbody kit. It looks like a tacked on piece that attaches to the sides of the rear bumper only. If this is the case, I will wait for the RonJon kit. However, I may just go with the body side mouldings until then.

From what I recall, the rear part for the 09-11 was a 2 piece kit as well. It sticks on the top edge by tape along with a strap that will pop through the oem bumper to hold it there a and then bolted on botton/under.

The RJ kit look better, agreed, at least on the 09-11. I look forward to see RJ's kit for the '12, if they do it.

Thats a great deal. My dealer would only go down to $43,000. I'll wait till I can get it for $41,000.
