I did find a test that had YOUR 13.7 at 102 in it, but it was for the Infiniti and not the TL.

So I really seriously don't trust your numbers unless you give us links.

So despite carrying an additional 100 lb., quicker shifts and more power carry the day with a 5.9-sec. 0–60 dash and a 14.4-sec. clocking through the quarter mile (curiously, each a full 0.4 sec. quicker than in our single-car test of the TL, January 2009).

Easy, TRAP SPEED. If trap speed is faster on the TL-S, that always means that car is faster.
But the 1/4 time only means the car was able to get out of the hole quicker (due to traction obviously). FWD the TL-S spins easily at any launch.
Go to the 1/4, or do some reading, you might learn some things about it.

I know what I'm talking about, no need to be an e-thug about it.
and trap speed only means the car is faster once it gets going. if the 1/4 mile time is slower, the car is slower from a dig. no question about it.

When comparing the same transmission type the SH is generally faster from zero and is a better 0-60, 1/4 mile, and trap car. From a roll, the mid range acceleration is likely the same with the low end acceleration in favor of the SH and high end in favor of the TLS. I still believe the TLS has the 0-130 mph advantage despite what common trap speed misconceptions can often suggest.

08 TL-S 5AT AEM/Innovative Mounts/Experience/Heavy Foot went already a few times against 09 base, 10 awd... Top of 3rd gear I walked away... Mounts and good tires keep me planted on the road...yep 5AT...
To those who rely on a car taking them out of a bad turn --- please don't race. Have a lovely day
pimpin my car bucks at hard shifts...

P.s, I don't drive like a dick, I just always love a little red light action. I always back down once the speeds get too quick. Not worth proving who's cars is 1 second faster in a 1/4 mile

TL-S is a good entry car for fun, comfort, styling and cool interior gadgets! It wasn't developed as a pure sports car so it is really hard to compare it to other sportier cars
but overall i love my 3G TL-S and its a great car for the price. The 4G's look great but i only like the SH version the standard ones look like boats.

Benchracing is retarded.. Vids & Slips can be found in the 1/4 mile thread in the Racing & Competition section.
Here's a fellow member supposedly running a 13.68 @ 102 on a base 3G with CAI, PCD & further exhaust restriction reduction. His 60' was 2.05.. He also ran wet and trapped 12.8 @ 113 with a 60' of 1.995.

I always get a kick out of these "who's faster" threads. I always remember George Carlin's bit, when he said, "who cares which car is faster from 0-60?? Theives, who need a fast get-away car???"

I hv a 2010 TL sh-AWD with a drop in K&N stock box filter along with dual Magnaflow open exhaust, (kept OEM chrome split tips). I'm getting approx 2 additional miles per gallon and the car is faster reaching 0 to 60. I havent quantified this with a dyno or stop watch, the green light G factor, when your head hits the head rest is much quicker. Probability due to the increased air flow from intake to exhaust.

I had an 08 type-s in manual and my current SH-AWD is also manual and i say that the AWD is faster. Light to light its a no contest because of the traction, on the highway the higher displacement wins out also. The 6 speed AWD is also 110 lbs lighter than the auto so i wouldnt doubt the auto is much slower because of transmission and weight

this is an old thread but considering I just sold my 08 TL-S manual and purchased a 2012 manual AWD I figured I would comment, I can say the 2012 AWD manual is definitely faster than the TLS manual. The TL-S SOUNDS faster, but the AWD IS faster.
That may not be the case for automatics, but it is definitely the case for the manuals.

The Original Shawdy
The TL gets up and goes. I've ran the 10' M6 in the rain at a light and around the corner. I launched on him tough hence AWD and then he started gaining. We were door to door by the next light and he couldn't pull anymore once we hit the corner. Obviously if we had more real estate he woulda of got me but felt good to take him haha. I haven't ran the Type S but I did run an 08 Aspec. I pulled out on a straight away and saw him coming up quick so I floored it. By the time he caught up I started pulling away slowly. It was a good run. Like everyone has mentioned. SH is quicker off the line, top end is a different story.

Hey you said you came from an 07 TL S 6MT or Automatic?

I'll bite. Do you want a bigger, more refined car? Or do you like a light-feeling more nimble, smaller car?
I have a 4G 6mt and I love it, but I suspect if you really like your Type S, you may be a bit disappointed. 4G definitely feels a little "fat" IMO... but it corners hard and flat, and you can always punch the pedal without worrying about wheel spin.

No comparison IMO. The 4G is better in every way. Looks of course are subjective, I prefer the 4G in that department as well. If I were 20 years old, I may feel differently.

Most of the time I'm always redlining my 3.5 but never from a stop. Only 2nd gear to 4th gear see vtec mutiple times a day with no problems and can really fly while rolling. Love the highway on ramps with 2nd/3rd gear aswell, just not in the rain...

I'm in the mood to upgrade eventually and have been looking at the 4g 6mt but am getting put off by the engine problems.
