2010 TL Brakes and rotors
 

I need my front pads done and rotors resurfaced. The dealer is charging $400 they say the resurfacing in $300 alone . I have a mechanic who works on Acura's that can do the brakes. My question is that is it better to buy the brakes and also replace the rotors as opposed to resurfacing them?

Also so can I pointed in the right direction as to where to purchase from?

it's all by measurement and if in spec, you can resurface.
if rotor is too thin, it would be best to buy a new rotor.

depending on your budget and what you are looking for in brakes....

if all you are looking for is an OEM equivalent, autozone's branded duralast cmax gold pads and rotors will do you JUST fine

OEM equivalents are SPEC'd to Honda/Acura specifications. :thumbsup:
I believe the Autozone stuff is only a few dollars cheaper than OEM, but again....if you go to the dealer, you're paying strictly for labor. thats why it cost $400-600

pads are like 60 bux
rotors are like 70 bux

You can do regular maintenance (see my other thread) or you can do it the expensive way.
6 years for the original rotors is not too bad if they have been neglected.
Good luck getting them off the car though.
On the other hand, the rotors on my 2010 TL are perfectly fine at 110,000 km and I just replaced the original front pads with about 40% life left on them.
I almost always use Acura parts but aftermarket rotors should be OK also. You don't need all this drilled and slotted stuff if you drive sensibly.
