Question 2010 SH-AWD TL good price?

hey everybody. last week i sold 2005 wdp tl. im excited to step up to a certified pre owned- cpo 4g tl. i found a wdp/taupe 2010 sh awd/ tech/ 6 mt. from the pics it looks great. the carfax looks good, except that it was a lease return, and was bought by the acura dealer, before they put it up for sale. it has 16,000 miles. it comes with the factory warranty, and because its a cpo, it will get another 12,000 miles/ 1 year added. they want me to pay $2400. to extend the warranty out to 100k miles/ or 7 years. is this worth the cost? anyways, the price is $33,400. and they will pay $400. towards a plane ticket, or towards the shipping, since im almost 1500 miles from them. $33,400. does not include tax, fees, plate transfer, or the extended warranty. sounds like a good price, but i would appreciate any thoughts from anyone on acurazine thanks!

Jeez, you could not have found anything closer? Anyway...I traded in my 04 TL for an 09 last may and purchased the extended acura care warranty for $1600 which covers pretty much anything for the next 5 years. plus the vehicle was CPO so it came with a 7 yrs/100k miles powertrain warranty. You can negoiate the cost of the acura care warranty with the finance department at your dealer. It's definitely worth the extra cost in my opinion, but not for more than 2k. Overall it sounds like a good deal. See if you can get the dealer to toss in some extra stuff....all weather mats, trunk tray and cargo net.

I just bought a CPO 2010 SH-AWD 6MT with 9,900 miles. It was 2,200 miles away so they split the $1,200 shipping with me. I think you're getting a good deal. I looked quite a bit and most of the ones I was finding were $37k plus.

Jump on it! You won't regret it!

I was in the exact same boat, but I figured since it's a CPO and less than a year old buying it sight unseen wasn't a big issue. I got lucky too because once it shipped it was here in two days...not bad for Arizona to Florida.

Hopefully soon you'll be seeing this...

Yes, it's definitely everything they said it was...as well as the dozen reviews I read online. I would've bought the extended warranty if I could've afforded it. I think it was like $850 and that would've extended the bumper to bumper warranty from 62,000 miles to 100,000. I'm fine with the one I have though, it goes until 62k or Dec 2015. I've also got a baby on the way so I am trying to keep as much in savings as possible.

Good luck!

Dealership here in KC wanted to charge $1250 for the extended warranty which I got, but only after hammering him down to %0.9 interest. Guess he had to decide what he makes more commission on, and I guess it was the warranty. Try that approach and see if it works!

I've been looking at 2010's cause I want to trade mine in. Some dealers are offering me $30K for a 2010 TL SH-AWD AT Tech with 11500 miles in excellent condition. The dealer I bought it from offered me $30K and when I pointed out they are selling two 2010's for $43 and 37K he said one was a demo with "extras" and the other is certified.

First, is there a reason why my trade couldn't be certified too? Second, are they really trying to make $7K off this deal? I have someone at $34500 so I told them to take a hike.

No reason yours couldn't be certified as long as you're trading it in to an Acura Dealership. Rest assured they'll take your 2010 certify it and sell it for at 37k. My 2010 was listed at 37k and I got them to come down but in my opinion 30k for a car that doesn't need any real maintenance to become certified is nowhere near enough.

That's what I thought. The same think happened to me trading my Subaru in for the TL. I contacted 6 dealerships and 5 came back immediately with really low numbers. I was looking for $25K and they were offering $15K. I didn't get $25K but it was close.

When they found out what I was asking they all responded like I was nuts and there is no way anyone would give me that. Guess what? Someone got really close and made the sale on a new car. The other tactic most used was to act like they were somehow doing me a favor and it was a hassle to call around and figure out the real price.

Since I still like me TL I'm not in any hurry and so I can wait for the right combo of sales price and trade-in price.

idmd, 30k for your shawd sounds a little low. you may be able to sell it on auto trader for more than 30k

Agreed. Trades always tend to be the sticking point for me. Every dealer in my area will give me a quote within $500 of each other and all of them will be a pretty good quote for the new car.

Then there's the trade. I know they're low balling me. They know they're low balling me. But they continue to pretend like they aren't.

Truth of it is the $34500 I was quoted for the trade is 150 miles aways and I'd happily take $33000 and call it a day to deal locally but no one seems interested.

$33000 is my lowest acceptable trade value and I just won't move forward if they offer me less. I'll just have to suffer in my gorgeous sporty TL.
