2010 Acura TL with Front Center Damage
Hello all,
I am going to travel a couple hours tomorrow morning to look at a 2010 TL SH-AWD tech with the colour combo I've been searching for. I have everything prepared to walk in and drive it off the lot but the Carproof report I just ran shows Front Center damage:
Estimate Date, Type of Record, Detail/Initial Point of Impact, Amount, Odometer
3/29/2012, Estimate Repair, Front Center, $10,855.32, 50872 KM
Car is at 93000 KM now. I'm bringing my mechanic to meticulously look at everything but I would greatly appreciate any advise on front end repaired TL's ,
, horror/success stories. Currently driving a CL 6 speed and would like to upgrade to the 4 gen TL but only for the right car.

Thank you

Seems like a lot of money for a car that's had $10k in damage. I'd be leery of buying anything where the front end has been damaged to that extent. I'd think you can buy one with no previous damage for that same price. I would keep looking if it were me.

I worked at a Honda Dealer in Ontario.
The car doesn't worth whatever the dealer is selling.
Wait for a better one to come by, especially has over $10,000 in damage.
Good luck on your search!

Yeah that's an expensive fix. I bought my TL in February and I found it from a dealer near Hamilton. The dealer was Acura on Brant. Paid 22,500 with 65,000km and only had a few hundred in damage. Apparently hood and windshield replaced. I'd say you'll be able to find something better, especially in Toronto since they have a wide range. There was nothing here in Ottawa when I was looking.

I would also think that a front end hit causing that much damage might include replacement air bags. That's asking for a lot of potential interior rattles down the road. I'd pass.

You're probably passing on the deal but just for reference....
I have a 2013 Nissan Altima. I was cutoff and ended up rear-ending a pickup truck. Repair bill was right around $10K USD. No airbags, just hood, bumper, fenders, headlights and radiator and surrounding area. Car is like new, but it was one expensive as hell repair.
Nothing structural or airbags - so for the right price if the car was fixed by a reputable mechanic it could be OK. (like I said though - for the right price)
Good luck!

Also, I just saw the price. I know this is in CAD but close to USD... My mom is in the process of buying a 2013 TL (base) with 18K miles. $25,500 ASKING price and it's certified. So this price is wayyyyy to high.

Before I bought my car 3 weeks ago, I test drove this: http://www.shopwilsons.com/detail-20...-11791890.html
It was $24,995 then. Dropped 2k since! It drove very tight but I wanted something with less mileage. Newly tinted and all. Only issue I noticed was the prop shaft whistle which you can use as a negotiating tool plus that is covered under manufacturer warranty anyway!

Good feed back all around, thank you. I ended calling the dealer to cancel the showing and If I have to wait a year for the right car, I will. I've already went through the TL's coming off lease here in my city and nothing jumped out. I will do the same in the neighboring towns. I can't help but think it would be easier to sell my CL this summer as opposed to Fall/Winter though. One day at a time I guess.
