Hi I have a oem front bumper on my TL and I see that it’s not fully flush. Does this happen when the weather gets warmer? I had the bumper replaced months ago also with oem spacers and brackets so I know it’s not a quality issue. Can anyone help me?
improper installation.
or may have love tapped something to bring it out of alignment.
not accusing you, but those are the things that come to mind with the front bumper being misaligned like that.
under the headlights are bunch of tabs or clips...the front bumper needs to be aligned/installed correctly into the headlight clips for it to sit flush and aligned correctly.
front bumper needs to come off and re-aligned into the head light clips.
in the last two pictures you can see the bumper not fully inserted into the headlight clip
So I went to the body shop and they took it off and said the clips are fine and that when it gets hot the bumper can expand and another TL owner in the shop with the same car showed me his and same gap. Thank you for your help. I’ll just live with it unless it gets worse
OEM bumpers from factory don't do this since they fit perfect. OEM factory replacement parts will fit better than aftermarket but not as good as factory.
They can take the clips off and try to adjust it as the clip also goes into the headlamps. For the rear bumper, the taillight might be a tad too low interfering with the bumper's edge.
There may be many reasons, the picture shows that the fender has been repainted, there may have been an accident and the fender itself does not sit well in place, maybe it is crooked, maybe the plastic bracket itself needs to be replaced. If I were you, I would restore the headlights instead of gaps)
