2009 TL - Under The Rear Seat

Hi all - Does anyone know what the big silver "disc" is under the bottom of the rear seats right in the middle? It's not the top of the gas tank or anything is it (like an "access hatch"?) Looks too far forward. It has something that looks like a sender going into it though. It's a round metal plate right in the center. I'm Dynamatting the whole thing and it looks too scary to cover up so I'll probably go around it but just thought I'd ask since it has me baffled. I'd post a pic but I still CAN'T. It seriously looks sinister though in a kind of a cool way. Funny though the whole time I've tried not to touch anything metal to it to avoid any sparks... Just in case... It's in the back of my mind...
I'm also thinking of leaving it that way and gutting the whole interior to save weight now (kidding, kidding)

That is the access for the fuel pump/ sending unit.
If you pull it off there will be the top of the pump unit held down by a big plastic locking ring that threads on, I wouldn't cover that up with anything, just in case.
