2009 TL release at Tustin Acura
Went there tonight with a handful of Acurazine'rs and snapped these towards the end of the evening after getting solo time with an AWD and a FWD model:
FWD model (sorry, had to remove people from the background so its only a "nose" shot):
AWD model :
and from outside the dealer:
overall not bad, couldnt eat the finger foods they served as i was allergic (shrimp mostly).
thanks for looking

the awd wheel base version definitely looks better than the fwd version. the front end's growing on me - not a fan of the back though definitely a swap out needed for that one...

Great pics! Nice to see you and your brother there yesterday, Patrick.
You know what, you should sell those pics that you took to Tustin dealer, heheh... I'm probabbly gonna give them some of the pics I took inside if they want it.

I saw the car and test drove the base TL here at Cerritos Acura. I do admit that after seeing it in person the front looks pretty good. If you add the Aero kit to it it'll look drop dead gorgeous. I never thought that the car looked bad to begin with but after seeing it in person I believe that the REAR is the ugliest part of the car. I just don't like how the rear lights are shaped.

664, how did you get notified of the new TL launch at Tustin Acura? I purchased my 2006 MDX and my 2008 TSX from Tustin and receive periodic literature from them, but never saw anything regarding the 2009 TL launch.
I would assume that current TSX and 3rd gen TL owners would be their potential customer base...

the release party at DCH Heart Acura in Dutchess County, NY is tonight. got my invite last week so i plan on stopping by in the mid evening. looks like it should be a nice time if it's like the one at Tustin. doesn't look like there will be any alcohol though
the invite says they are raffling off a "one time deep discount on a new vehicle". since im sure all the dealers are doing it does anyone know just how deep the discount is? strings attached?

Don't know anything about one time deep discount at Tustin. They do raffle for the acura watch (the one put on the desk) and all the guesses get one small gift bag which has Acura key chain and Dealer pen.

sounds like a good time to me! i'll bring my good camera and take some pics for sure. and i'll let you know if i get any information about this "deep discount". the more i see the 09 models the more i think the AWD TL will be my next car. and to think i hated it when i first saw it.

so i got to my local dealership by 7pm last night and it was EMPTY save for 6 or 7 salespeople and a couple actually buying a car. i know the "party" started at 5 but i expected at least a few people in there. but anyway, so i went in and looked around for about 20 minutes and left. so unfortunately i don't have any good pictures and i walked away a little disappointed in the whole thing.
to talk about the car though, i am definitely more impressed in person. the interior is fantastic, the trunk is huge, the tech package is amazing, i just only dislike that stupid grille. so i went outside to the mdx's and took a good hard look at that grille then went back in and looked at the tl grille again. i bet they are swappable. maybe some minor trimming would be involved though. might have to use a little jb-weld to bond it in place
my gf/fiance actually likes the new tl too, which is good for me so i won't have to negotiate with her to buy it she hated the last model.
they claimed the AWD model won't arrive by me until november, so i plan on taking one out for a spin whenever i get my first chance to. i'm looking to buy a new car by next june and it will either be the awd-tl or the g35x. i'd really like to get the acura though since the dealer is well rated and close to home. we'll see.

Satin,
That's pretty interesting. The event that Jay Wolfe Acura had here in Kansas City on Wedenesday was a HUGE success as far as attendance goes. I got there early (5PM), but by the time I left at 7PM, it was wall to wall people. I would estimate a few hundred people attended. They had a jazz band, free food and adult beverages, about 6-7 2009 TL's on display and even some there to test drive in the parking lot. They put alot of time, effort and money in to this and it seemed like the evening was a success. I'm anxious to see how many cars they sold because of this event.

honestly i am surprised too. they are supposedly a high volume, high rated dealer and i honestly expected alot of people to be there. maybe the fact that it was a thursday night deterred people, i don't know. i'm still glad i got an invite though, since not everybody got one.
