2009 for 2012....
There is a 2012 TL Tech for sale when I live. The dealership is asking 42995 (canadian funds before tax) and there are 12604 km's on the vehicle.
What's your opinions on the price?
I have an '09 TL-SHAWD non tech with 68000 kms on it.

i paid less than that for a '12 tech with 8km. you got room to work with.

That is not a good deal at their asking price.
Figure - there is a $6,000 cash incentive on new 2012's right now. I checked the Balmoral Park Acura website in Thunder Bay as you didn't specify if it was the SH-AWD model or not - and I can see that it is... The MSRP is for the 2012 SH-AWD Tech was roughly $47,000 - $6,000 cash incentive = $41,000. Then you can negotiate off the MSRP (there is 8% dealer markup on Canadian TL's) - so another roughly $3,750. They will take $500 over dealer cost, so you'd be looking at $37,750 plus $2,000 in freight - or $39,750. And that's brand new.
Your problem will be finding one - 2012's are few and far between now and if you can find one, you may not get your preferred colour.
I got my 2012 Elite with extended warranty, protection package, rear splash guards, wheel locks and dealer tint for a fair bit less than what they are asking...
I would see what new 2012's they have or can get for you. Use the price of a new one with the incentive as I described above as your leverage - and then determine what is fair compensation for the mileage the vehicle has on it currently. That's what I did and it worked quite well in my favour.

No, the cash incentive does not apply to used but would apply to a demo or executive demo so long as it hasn't been registered.
I did notice Balmoral shows new 2012's in their online inventory. You should see what kind of deal you can get on new with the $6K incentive...

sounds overpriced with that many Km's on it. End of the year, they're trying to move the car out. I purchased my 2010 for $43K, 6spd manual A-SPEC model with ZERO km's on it in the GTA.
Unless you need a new one, it's not worth trading it in. Dealers make money on trade ins, and selling new cars!
BTW, it was probably a loaner car for when you and others bring theirs in for service and warranty. I know how loaners are driven (I also get loaners) and it ain't always nice (kinda like a prostitute, been around the block with many drivers)
Just my two cents!

Good luck and let us know how it goes. Just remember there is almost $4K in dealer mark up in a new 2012 SH-AWD, so you should expect a straight $6,000 Acura rebate plus an additional $3,500 in dealer discounting. Most will move a 2012 at $500 over cost without too much effort.

$41,966 is what i was quoted for a price of the 2012 with $7000 in Acura rebates. I owe $21,400 on my '09, and I'm getting $23,000 on trade. So, with MSRP being $46,990 and the invoice price at around $43,000, I don't think this is too bad of a price....what do you think?
