After many years of struggling with this very same question, I have decided that I like the grille just the way it is. On the 2009 the combination of all that silver up front looks good to me now.
It also depends on what color your vehicle is.

Try taking a picture of your car and coloring in the grille in photoshop and see if you like the look.
Different colors and quality of work can also make effect the look.

Mine is going in for some other paint work, so I am going to have them do the grille and rear trim at the same time.

use some plastidip to see if that's the look you want or not before dropping some money on a full paint job for the grill. if you don't like it, peel it off.

Op,the decision is your to make,my personal opinion is that the painted grille like Alexander's above is the way to go.

I am also a client of Nexon and will highly recommend him for his quality of work and attention to detail.

Yeah, this is the route I went and what I recommend. Black is easy to match so if you get a gloss black vinyl it will be too close to tell it's not CBP. It will also allow you to test out the look before committing and can be done much cheaper than painting.

I went with a gloss black on the center piece (which I've since removed and painted CBP), matte black on the outer trim and I painted my mesh silver. Though not for everyone, I love the combo.

Good luck!

She is a pure beauty. However I'm still debating with myself ether to go with fully painted or two color vinyl.

Thank you for the pictures.

Mines painted but could accomplish the same with vinyl. I'll post a few of my combo's. You could always do both. Paint the outside portion black and vinyl wrap the beak, if you get bored you can change it up easily.

current setup Black and Carbon Matte Grey

Chrome and black

Black and Carbon fiber vinyl

Interesting I have been toying with the same idea since I got mine a week ago (09 in basque red). Thinking of a gunmetal look maybe but not sure if that is possible with a wrap. Sorry OP not trying to hijack your thread lol

You know, I kept thinking to myself. If Mitsubishi were to continue to develop this 3000GT class machine, it would have rival the Nissan GT-R at this very present day.

Coming from a former 3KGT owner, I'm not so sure of that fact. When the GT came out in the early 90's, the chassis was not built with track in mind. This can be seen by the not so ideal suspension geometry which is brought up quite a bit in their forums. It was meant to be more of a GT car, in which it excels in my opinion. When they made the GT-R, it was built with mainly one thing in mind: track killer. Now, if Mitsu were to continue developing the 3KGT to this day, I'm not 100% sure that they would've deviated from what the car was meant to be and turned it into a more track oriented car. But who knows, maybe they might've. It would've been awesome to see that fan out and see what they would've built. Too bad Mitsu plans on going green. There's been rumors that the next gen Evo will feature a hybrid powertrain.

VR4, totally didn't mean to threadjack lol. But it sure is exciting to see a fellow 3KGT'er on AZ. Even down to the year, 92 haha.
When I had envisioned the painted grille in my mind, I was afraid it might end up making the car look cheap. But after seeing the pics, this will DEF be my next mod lol

Does anyone know where I could get paint that matches the silver color of the grill? I have a 2013 and thinking of painting the two front bars on the grill to match the rest of it.
