09 TL factory BODY KIT VS none

Here you go.

LEFT: Factory Body kit around $1100
RIGHT: None

I think it gives it a nice touch. Oh, I also upgraded the rims to 19" just for show.

From a distance the aftermarket wheels look great, but then I see they have 10 spokes, not five when you get closer.

it's a shame that A-spec won't be an option anymore

anyway, the rear lip looks like the bumper ron was trying to create fro the 3G TL-S; and the front lip looks REALLY off....

the real problem in the front is that the bumper looks incomplete; so adding the lip just makes it stand out more - regarding it looking not finished.

I'm pretty sure that front will be redone, it's the same idea as the 3G 4-06 and then 07-08 with lower fog lights and the metal strip;

Don't worry. This is just the 1st model year. I'm sure there'll be more performance options available the following years, until the release of the TL-S trim.

Well I'm sure the SH-AWD version drives wonderfully, plus the interior is a huge improvement from the 3rd Gen TL's.

But it looks like many 3rd Gen TL owners aren't feeling the 09 Design. I think I'm the same boat as well.

So, who makes this new body kit? And no body kit will make up for that ugly nose. Plus, that driving light/turn light is still a disaster.

Just showed my wife the pics of the '09 TL and her first words were it looked too "bubbly". She said the current 3G is much better looking. This is coming from someone who really doesn't care too much about this kind of stuff and doesn't buy on looks.

At least that lip kit adds some detail to a bland, wannabe-futuristic body styling.

I went by Mile High Acura today to see if they had any 09's in, they had a silver tech and another one elsewhere in the dealership. They had the '09 parked next to an '04 and the car honestly looked twice the size. I didn't think the car was offensive looking in person, and the front end isn't bad IMHO, but the size was just immense.

The kit doesn't do enough for the car. Again, who makes this kit or is this just someone else's Photoshop job? There is a price of $1,100 attached to the original posting..If it is a Photoshop job, let's see a kit that addresses that ugly nose.

I still hold to the fact that we've already been altering this car-even before it came out. Now that it's "here", we're already altering the basic lines of the car. What does that say about it????

It's the factory lip kit.

I saw better pic's of the lip kit at the dealer. I think it makes the car look a lot better. I really like the rear. With those rims and the lip spoiler I might be able to live with it. White with umber interior.

Those 19" Acura wheels looks very nice....but at list price of $599 each is way too much for me. Can anyone suggest something that's nice but a little less expensive?

Axis Shine

How bout these Pete? They're about 380 each msrp but I'm sure you can get a deal on them from a tire shop if you get them with the tires.

First off, there should be a claification here. This is an OEM ACCESSORY BODY KIT, not a factory kit. Factory kit implies that it is put on at the factory, this is incorrect, the dealer installs it before delivery...

i dont really think so, i mean these are engines milked out to the max almost.
and also the A-spec package was available rather quickly; this time around, we havent even heard word of something like that and the car has already been released.

also if you look at the direction acura is going, clearly they aren't catering to the performance group. look at the 19" wheel option, i bet it's heavy as hell; at least the 3G A-spec kit was also aerodynamically proven to help keep the car on the ground even more, a-spec rims are a tad heavy, but they also specifically came out with the AVS ES 100's too;

and yes there is much to be done with this new template; it looks fine in person really, but when you take shots directly from the side, it looks like my neighbor's camry and drives me crazy.

OK, the white 09/TL looks good with the kit.
Question, will the average car buyer notice that their kit is a different color shade than the car ?

what he means is the known issue that the bodykits usually are of a different shade as is when installed. for example, the rear bumper issue on WDP TL's - the bumper is an off-white, almost different color. same goes for the A-spec kits - some look off.
