I’ve seen a few posts saying they needed to wire their radar detector or dash cam to a fuse tap. Wanted to share that there is accessory power (only on when vehicle is on) near the dome lights.
The connector going to the mirror itself which controls the photocell and homelink has the appropriate power but I tapped into it right above the dome light.
Hope this helps someone
Grey is 12v and Black is ground. This is directly at the rear view mirror. Trace the wire above the dome lights as you will have more room for the connections. I used T-Taps and spade connectors for mine. I used a rounded file to have the wire come out directly from the plastic cover.
Thank you for posting. I am hoping to tap directly into back of connector with mini pins on mirror tap wire (grey/black wires). Quick follow up, please describe how you removed lower cover of mirror... pry/pull straight off or slide off? Concerned about snapping clips, etc. Thank you for any additional info!

you should be able to use that style connector AKA “mirror taps”.
i used a plastic trim removal tool and pressed it against the glass and the corner of the trim (all the way at the bottom) to release the clips.

Thanks for your post and also to BrandonClaps for the original. I purchased a 2022 Aspec yesterday and am facing the same issues that you raised. It looks like the Blendmount mirror mount from my 2016 Pilot will fit, but I am trying to determine if Blendmount’s Mirror Tap will also work. Any additional pointers on how to remove the plastic trim will be greatly appreciated. We’re you able to use the Mirror Tap on the grey and black wires in the mirror harness to get switched accessory power?
Thanks again to BrandonClaps for his photos and wiring information. The mirror tap works perfectly in the grey and black wire slots of the mirror plug harness on my 2022 MDX Aspec. The only issue was that I broke a pin probe on my old Mirror Tap that slips into the wiring harness plug. Instead of ordering a new one for $29.99, I tried a generic set from Amazon that comes with three complete longer wires using different sized pins costing only $16.95. The one with the smallest pins fit best.
Although the Blendmount website doesn't offer a mount for the Acura, the one taken from my 2016 Pilot worked fine after inserting a bushing strip that they provided for another car. Amazon Taps with largen pins
I notice that hardly any people use an extra low-ampere fuse when they tap into the overhead/mirror assembly circuitry. It is true that the factory circuitry is already properly fused. But the minimum fuse size used for Honda/Acura vehicles is 5A, when most radar detectors and car cams are rated at 1-2A max.
So having 5A of current going through a malfunctioning radar detector or car cam will sure smoke the car or, worst case scenario, start a nasty fire. Therefore, it is much safer to include a 1 or 2A (according to device specs) external fuse before splicing anything into the factory electrical system.

VaTech68, do you recall which mount from Blendmount that the bushing strip came from? They're wanting to cancel my order because the MDX mirror stem is tapered. Alternatively I suppose I can take a crack at printing a bushing or sleeve for a mount.
The mount was purchased for a 2013 Infiniti JX35, which was renamed the QX60 model in 2014. When I replaced the Infiniti with a 2016 Honda Pilot, the mount fit perfectly. Later I ordered a new magnetic attachment for my new 360 MAX. If you look at the side view photo, you can see the bushing is only partially inserted into the mount which compensates for the tapered shaft. The bushing was in a bag of Blendmount parts collected from several different mounts purchased over the years. Most likely it came with the mount that fit my 2006 Corvette. you could make one from thin plastic pipe or even use tape.
The J28 folks are very helpful. You are welcome to share the photo with them to see what they can work out. Below is a copy of the purchase information provided by them.Invoice MirrorTap, .050" Tap, Radar Detector, Power Cord With Inline Fuse, 9" Long, Infiniti, JX35

By the way, I would have taken the mount off the mirror so you could see the bushing, but my MDX has been in the body shop since a deer strike in November. At this point, there is no forecast date for when the parts will be available. I am very unhappy that Acura continues to build new MDX's as fast as they can without consideration of those of us 2022 owners who need parts to get their cars back on the road. Customer service is not very important to them.
Thanks for getting back to me. I just got a Type S Advance last month, and the lack of parts I read about is a bit worrisome. Blendmount is sending me the mount, I'll probably have someone print a tapered split collar to use, or I will once i get my printer setup.
