2024 S-Type Advance Speed Limited

2024 S-Type Advance Speed Limited
It appears my high performance MDX is speed limited to 100mph. Removing the governing device voids the lease, requiring immediate purchase. You might say “why would you ever want to go faster than 100mph?” Fair question, but it’s none of your f*cking business.
The issue was that this was not disclosed during the sales transaction and is a key fact when deciding to lease or purchase an $80K high performance vehicle. A toyota camry can go 100mph.
Does this bother anyone? Or am I just being a little b*tch?

Any reason you just didn't spend the $80k on an X5?

Limiter should kick in at 112 MPH. Most of the time this was done as the tires on the car were not rated past those speeds. Not sure if you can defeat it yet, hopefully K-Tuner supports the new MDX like the TLX-S.

I’ve owned 2 BMWs in the past. Both were in the shop more than any other cars i’ve owned - mainly for “minor” issues with the bells and whistles. Based on my own personal experience with the brand, I would not consider BMW as a lease or purchase option anymore.

I've had more issues in 2 years w/my '21 TLX A-Spec than I thought was possible w/Acura.
One thing to remember: just because you spent $80k on an MDX, don't expect $80k worth of luxury and performance as you would on an X5.
Acura is clearly reaching w/their pricing and their tech is not comparable to BMW tech despite checking the same "box"!

X5 is expensive
I respect your prior BMW ownership experience. It's a different company now and much more reliable (reflected in current CR #1 ranking).

Here in Canada cars are very expensive. I was getting a 2024 X5, had to order to get adaptive cruise, it's an option on X5 and dealers don't have any on the lot. The X5 I optioned was 128K. I drove to the Acura dealership and they had a MDS TYPE S for 89K, better interior, just as nice. BMW has a better engine though.
Glad I got the Acura

Not only is the base X5 faster than the MDX Type S, with about $10k more to make it nicely-equipped, we're talking $77,500 X5 vs $73,500 MDX Type S.
I've found iDrive to be far superior to the Acura TT system and who can forget the Acura digital dash in its infancy vs a robust BMW version?
Only advantage for the MDX would be the sound system and a tight third row (for adults).

Sorry to pour salt on the wound but here's the direct comparison b/w the MDX Type S Advance vs the Base X5 xDrive40i (pricing is much closer in the US):

On a related note, how many trips have Acura members made to get their puddle lights replaced?

The issue is you're in the past Elin, we are all in 2023 and moving to 2024! You bought and sold your Acura and yet stuck justifying your new purchase with us . Why don't you spend more time in BMW forum praising BMW. Clearly, you are not happy with you purchase. Many owners moved to other brands but they are not spending their day here like you trashing Acura!
