the Yokohama S-Drive in Snow

I am thinking about replacing my OEM with The Yoko S-drive since I read a lot of good review about it. My thing is, although I may have to drive in snow couple days in the whole year, can anyone tell me if they used these or similar tires in the snow and how responsive they were. Thanks

These are not going to give you safety/performance in the snow or even at temps under about 45 F. They are sold as 'Ultra High Performance Summer' tires -- not all season tires. Do yourself and others on the road a favor and spend your money on a set of 'Ultra High Performance A/S' tires instead

Here is the listing for the stock size at tirerack dot com.

I bought a 2006 certified TL off a lease, it was from Florida, it has BFG g-Force sport ZR Summer tires on it, they are DEATH TRAP TIRES in the winter.

I was just at Tirerack looking at 245/35/19" tires for when I purchase Axis Hero 19"x8.5". After doing alot of research I decided the Yoko S-Drive will be the tire for me. Its so much less then the other tires I was considering, plus its highly rated. BUT they will be my good weather tires/wheels. I will have 2 other sets of TL wheels with tires for winter. I suggest buying a used set of TL wheels with all season tires, and Yoko S-Drive for good weather, it sounds like a great tire.

Well put I don't understand why people would even consider purchasing a 'summer tire' for an Acura TL. I love mine, but let's be honest: the TL is not a super car. It's not even a sports car. If you own 911-turbo or Corvette etc., then yeah, you're probably justified purchasing such a tire. Odds are if you own such a car, you probably own another vehicle to drive in the winter too :p

Okay, off my soapbox. Seriously, there are some great A/S 'ultra performance' tires (most of them are Z-rated) that will fit your needs just fine AND will keep you and others safe in the winter (winter = not just snow/ice but when ever the temp drops below 45 °F or so).

I bought a set of 2004 TL wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires for winter, they should be MUCH better then the tires that came on the car for winter. I can't wait to get them, UPS estimates Jan 2nd 09.

DO NOT drive with Summer Tires in the snow or cold weather. Last week when the streets were DRY and white from salt, my SUMMER BFG g-Force sport ZR SUMMER tires were spinning like I was on snow, like I said a NIGHTMARE.

Actually...these tires came on my car when new(after reading the posts here on how bad the EL42's were,I negotiated these tires when I bought the car),and used them for 1 full year before I got seperate rims/tires for summer use(went to 18" for summer). So I would ay these tires would be an excellent choice for year round use.

Darksky, I am not sure if you read my post but I am not asking you if TL is a sport car or If I shoould only buy a TL as a second, 3rd or 4th car after having a Turbo 911 or corvette. I think I am only asking opinions on YOKOHAMA S-drive tires to people who have a set on there TL. Thank you anyway!!!

Didn't mean to offend, just tried to drive home a point.
