hey guys,im new over here and just picked up an 01 cl-s about a month ago.i have been looking into getting these wheels in silver bc the previous owner of my car lived in philly and curbed the shit out of all the stocks. im sticking with 17s just bc i dont wanna buy tires for it and im mainly buying wheels bc i cant stand how curbed these are. my question is what is the best size to go with,im not looking for a crazy stretch or anything, something similar to acurauintegtl's white car.thanks

Ya, they do look good. What size tires did he go w/again? Is that what you call peeled? Cuz I don't like that look that much. I want the tire to be there and look kinda beefy. If you know what I mean?

Thanks for putting them on guys! I appreciate it!

^thats stretched. Probably 225/40?

I think if you want beefy, you should prob go with 18x8.75 +35 with 235/40 or 245/40

Jeff,
Beefy/Aggressive look is what I want. I don't want the tire to roll or peel away quickly from the the rim, thus making the tire look more round. I want a more square like look.
+35 will be ok w/my base brakes and with those tires no rolling fenders?

Been following this for sometime and i have to say it turns out better than i expected. Nice looking rims. Been thinking of getting some 18" rims and sell my stock 17" lol. Anyway, i am on Eiback springs and its like 1.2" drop in the front and 1" in the back. Also have 5mm spacers on the back. Was thinking 18x8.75 + 35 or +20? with 235/40/18 tires. My main concern is- i want the back to be perfect- not poking out and not hiding in lol. What do you guys think about the gold rims on white? But it has to be like flat gold- not shiny gold if that makes sense. Is the xxr530 gold like shiny gold or flat gold? Cant tell from the pics. Or just i should go with Chromium black- cant make up my mind

^Check out the gold on the WDP TL in the banner of this link. http://www.nlmotoring.com/XXR-530-Wheels-s/1673.htm

It is hard to tell what offset will sit perfectly but if you want to play it safe go +35 and use spacers if necessary. +35 is less concave than +20 though

Hey, I will be installing the Gold 530's (18x8.75 +35, w/235/40) on my NBP tomorrow..I will be posting up pics once they are. I know its NBP, but I will try to get some angles to show them. From initial looking they are not a flat gold, but not uber shiny either...

Just to be sure, there are no clearance issues/spacers required with the XXR 530 18" x 8.75" +35 with the OEM Brembo brakes on '07-'08 Type S right?

Thanks guys...

Thanks Jeff. But +20 will have more of a concave look to the rim, right? Cuz I want concaveness to the rim but want a beefy look to the tire. So hard to tell on the diff btwn those two diff tire set ups. But I like how he sold his flat black 527s and got the 530's in chromium black.

This is looking good..I originally was going to go with Volk VR.G2 matte black in 19x8.5 5x114.3 +35.. can't do it because of the price so I'm looking xxr 522 flat black or the chromium in 19x8.5 5x114.3 +35 with falken fk-452
235/35/19.. will this fitment clear type-s brembo? and what do you guys think of the color between the chromium and flat black with a kinetic blue type-s?

Sorry for the crappy pic, only had my phone, but will clean it up and take some more pics tomorrow! but overall, the wheels look nice, more like a satin finish not flat, not uber shiny, no rubbing, and have room to lower

I really like the XXR530 wheels...so just to be clear before I swap wheels and tires... again. I have a 2007 Type-S lowered on an A-Spec suspension. I'm looking at the XXR530 18x8.75 +35 or +20 with either a 235/40/18 or 245/40/18 tires for comfort. Questions: Will both offsets clear the Brembo brakes? I don't want to mess with the body so will they rub?

I was able to get some better pics, these were taken around 7:00am, so just after sunrise. The Gold is alittle lighter, but it also has different hues depending on the light conditions. I'm stoked that I got them on, yes, yes I know the XXR caps are crap, but i'm going to custom make some type s caps, going to black them out and gold out the Acura symbol...so until then, this is what I got...lol..hope this helps for those who are looking into the Goldies...

^ looks great- good to see they are not some shiny gold cuz that would have not been good look lol- anyway- so u went with 235/40- are theses Falken?
And they seem to fit perfectly on the front and they are hiding a little bit in the back but with my 5mm spacers that i have now- should work out

Yeah, 235/40 - Falken ze-612's. I may pick up some 5mil spacers in the rear too. I have always been a fan of gold/bronze wheels...post some pics once you get 'em up, keep us posted

Sorry for asking the brembo question I'm just a little gun shy with buyin wheels. Just for info, I called NLMotoring to order and the guy advised the XXR530 +35 will not clear brembos and the +20 will rub without roll and stretch...so my question remains. Is anyone have a type-s running the 530 lowered on an a-spec? What offset? Did u have to roll or stretch? Do they rub?

+20 will definitely clear. rolling fenders will depend on amount of negative camber.

from information gathered... these would be my top 3 options for anyone deciding on these wheels for height ~ 2" (or no wheel gap). Anything WITH gap will have an easier time fitting wheels. Options below are for wheel size: 18x8.75.

option 1: NO ROLL, +20 offset, 225/40 tire, > -1 camber
option 2: NO ROLL, +35 offset, 235/40 tire, ~ -1 camber
option 3: ROLL, +20 offset, 235/40 tire, any camber setting

roll/no roll: means fender modification.

tire stretch: most likely not needed for 18x8.75 +35 (ex: 235/40)
possibly needed for 18x8.75 +20 (ex: 225/40)
required for 18x9.75 +20 or greater (ex: 225/40)

Please research on this thread or xxr 527 picture/fitting guide for MORE fitment problems.. i'm sure 90% of questions have been answered before. These are common wheels because of the price and style, and many have tried different combinations of these wheel + tires so i'm SURE the questions you have are most likely covered already.

If you searched and answers are not avail, then feel free to post a question.. but lets try not to clog this thread with questions that probably have been asked before.

hope this helps

Lots of awesome info here guys. Just ordered my set of 18x9.75 +20 Chromium Black for my 07 MRP TL-s. I got them for $579 shipped which is a hell of a deal. Got the last set on eBay from this member and used the PayPal Bill Me Later option to save $10 from the $589 price.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ht_3606wt_1031

Just need to get my fenders rolled/pulled now

here are some pics i took over the weekend with my phone, i am way lower now from where i was lowered with type s wheels. rolled my fenders and have slight negative camber, i only rub front fenders when going up drive ways turning my wheels at a very aggressive angle. so guys/girls who bough 8.75 you will be fine no matter what.
if you want aggressive and more of concave look go with 9.75 +20 (stretched tires), if you afraid you will rub get 8.75 +30 or +20.
btw my rears dont rub at all.... i might take off my HD lip and go lower

and here is how low i am when driving up to my driveway at home!
