wuts the difference

wuts the difference between car rims and SUV/truck rims?? can u use car rims on an SUV???

most suv rims are designed as rwd where as ours are fwd, fwd and rwd usualy have a big difference between the offset, a larger bolt pattern, heaver duty to put up with the larger weight and a larger center hub (for 4wd)

Very good question Diva that most people don't ask. There are many auto rims that will fit on SUV's but don't have a sufficient load rating. Just like tires, rims have load ratings and should be selected for the vehicle. SUV rims are typically heavier duty and have higher load ratings. If you look at most SUV rims, the spokes are thicker or heavier.

My brother is dealing with this issue on his Honda Pilot and hasn't found rims with a load rating that comes close to stock.
