I bought steel rims from canadianTire for the winter and was wondering if anyone would know if i can use the stock lugnuts or would i have to buy new ones.

Myself I don't think it will matter .. the stock are spherical but the thickness of the steel rim doesn't give much of a contact patch ...

Mind you we got steel wheels w/ tires from Tire Rack for my brother in laws TSX and they supplied wheel nuts so they are the experts .. I'd go with the proper nuts.

 

^^^actually the stock ones are called ball seat...and i dont think there isnt any reason why you couldnt use them on some steelies

 

Ball .. spherical .. same thing the steelies might be conical .

 

Got to look to see how the lug nut contacts the steel wheel. On our '08 knock around car, the lug nuts are different betweeen the steel and aluminum factory wheels. In fact I had a flat when the chrome alloys were on but managed to get the car home even though the lug nuts were seated incorrectly. I now keep a set in the trunk that will fit the steel spare.
