will 265/35 fit on 18" aspec rims?

I went to Costco to buy new tires. I'm looking at getting the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s. I told the guy there I have 18" rims instead of stock 17"s. He looked in a book they use and for a 2004 Acura TL it says that I should use 265/35 size tires. Aren't these too big? I haven't seen any other posts on here about anyone using that size. Can anyone help? I had 235/40 on my current tires. Thanks.

A 265 would work on the 2004 aspec rims which are 8.5" wide. A 265 is too wide for the 8" ones. 265/35/18 is pretty close to stock diameter, so it's good, but the side walls are going to bulge some.

According to the specs on Tirerack, for the Mich PS2 tires... The 265/35-18 tire requires a rim width of 9-10.5", with 9.5" being the optimum.

whoawhoa 2004 aspec rims are 18x8.5? i thought they were 18x8. i know the stock rims are 17x8 and a guy on this forum fit 255's on them so if the aspecs are really 18x8.5 then i dont see why not. can anyone confirm this? that the aspecs are 18x8.5. are the 05, 06 aspec rims any different in size? justwondering..

and arutz, how much was it for a set of those tires? i've been meaning to get some for my aspecs

Pimpin-TL is right, the 04 TL has a wider rim than the 05-06. I got the 265/35s put on today, everything seems OK so far. The Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s set me back $306 a tire at Costco (w/o tax), they weren't cheap. The 235/40s would have been $256 each. Tirerack is a few bucks cheaper I think. Not sure if it was worth spending the extra money to go to the wider tires, guess I'll find out over time as I drive on them.

any updates on this tire size? I was looking at going to 265/35/18 myself. I have the 04 ASpec rims @ 8.5".

Also with the ASpec suspension was there any tire rub?

^ no tire rub a member has in fact installed these successfully, my only guess is you might get some rub on the plastic inner liner while parallel parking

Of the 265's.

Anyone running these with the Brembo Front Brakes?

Whats the offset on the 2004 18 x 8.5 A-Spec Wheel?
