Wider Wheel base?

Alright, so this is probably quite a simple question, but hey, thats what the forum is for I guess!

.....And yes, I tried searching.

Ok, so I really liek the look when the rear wheels are "wider" than teh front ones. I guess wider isnt even the correct "wordage" for it, more like spaced out further. I have read that you just need spacers, but what is all involved? I mean theoretically it sounds like a cheap mod that looks good.

Along with howit is accomplioshed, what are the pros/cons of doing this? Is it a DYI, or is it siggested taht you go and get it done?

Any links to parts needed, or pictures of final products would be great!

Try searching for 'staggered'... I think I recall reading that it's detrimental to either handling or performance since we're FWD... I dunno, I don't have much to contribute other than to help ya with the word you're looking for.

staggered is the word of the day.

Staggered is the correct term.

Usually the rear wheels ARE wider than the front. Some people choose to get the same size wheels but get a lower offset for the rear ones so they stick out a bit more than the front.

Look through this thread for pros and cons:

Wider is better for handling...
If you are NOT lowered, you don't have to worry, but if you ARE lowered then you're going to want to be careful not to go too wide and rub your tires on the fender.

Robear racing has spacers in multiple sizes. I personally did not want to deal with having to swap to longer studs for the lugs so I went with Type II Ichiba. They bolt on your stock lugs and then have new studs built in.

Here's a link to a thread I put up on as I put my spacers on my gf's accord this last weekend.
