Wider treads

I was talking with a rep from TireRack.com and he tells me you can't put wider tires on a TL.

Not sure I believe that.

Does anyone know if you can put wider tires (245, 255, 265 or 275) on a Gen3 TL?

Thanks.

I just put 245-40-18s on mine. No problems so far I think they look very good on the car.

IIRC there was someone with an NBP with Eibach's and SSR wheels on 245/40/18 Goodyear rubber. I've got 245/35/19's and Comptech's and have no rubbing issues. You just need to make sure you get wheels with the correct offset. I'd +40 to +45 should be fine but I've seen as low as +38.

Damn, I hope so. I ordered my RPM2 18's with a +45 offset and am going with 245/40/18 and the Comptechs. They said everything should fit just fine with no rubbing. Hopefuly everything will get delivered this week and I can get the install done this weekend.

Will let you know how it goes.

You should have no problems. Be sure to post pics when you can.
