I am trying to buy some Type S wheels, but cant find any besides ebay selling for around 250. Any one know where to buy some for a great price?

Black Market. They come up fairly often. They used to anyhow.

Nope, never heard of them until this thread.

There are other Type-S wheels at higher price on page 2 & 3. I don't know why there is a difference in price.

The difference I see is the ones on page one listed at $156 each are described as "charcoal silver," the ones on page two for $216 are described as "dark hypersilver," and on page 3 the ones for $278.10 are "aftermarket chrome."

AFAIK the real OEM Type S wheels are only available in one shade of gunmetal gray or "dark hypersilver," right?

I dunno; the price of $156 seems too low for real OEM wheels in new condition (which is how they're described, if you look at the righthand side, under the part #)—I'm thinking they're reproduction wheels.

They are replica's have to be careful with sites that sell replica's A lot of times you get what you pay for. I have heard of a lot of people buying replica wheels and bending rims couple weeks later. I am not saying these will bend, just saying be careful.

Sorry to bring this back up from the grave, but did anyone on this thread actually end up buying wheels from carpartshed.com? I also just came across this company's name on another wheel thread...but something about the site says "stay away". The prices just seem too good to be true. And there doenst seem to be much on them anywhere on the net...

hmmm

If you're feeling that unsure about them just stay away. I've never dealt with them personally but maybe someone else has.

Yeah for sure...I have learned the hard way that when it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
I was about to drive 2 hours round trip to pickup some Type S Wheels yesterday when I came across that site so I held off to do a bit more research on that site.

But based what I have found so far (which is nothing much), I will be staying away. Used Type S's it is...

^ its best to buy them used or if you can new.

New runs around 250 per wheel (no center cap) from oemacuraparts.com

At the dealer there were asking 500 per wheel (no center cap) <--------O.O

Check the BM for use ones. Most of them are usually curb but if you are lucky you will find some mint condition.
