Wheel Weight / Ride Quality

Good morning all! Quick random question but does anyone know if a heavier wheel translates to more compliant ride quality versus a lighter wheel on road impacts?
Looking into new wheel options and wondered if some of the aftermarkets that are lighter than OEM are better or worse in this regard. Was thinking lighter might be worse.
Thanks as always for your feedback!!

An argument could be made both ways. Assuming you stay with the stock size wheels and tires, a heavier wheel may offer a marginal improvement in ride when encountering a small road imperfection, however, as the road gets bumpier, the heavier wheel will tax the suspension more to follow the road surface. In the end, lighter is typically considered better as it can aid in suspension responsiveness, especially when maneuvering on a less than perfect surface.

Reducing sprung weight almost always improves suspension response and ride quality.

Increasing it almost always has adverse affects.

Your shocks will have to damp a heavier weight.

Its one of the reasons we haven't seen uranium wheels on any car yet.
