Wheel Adapter Question!

Wheel Adapter Question!
So I have a set of Whistler KR5's that I'm about to put on my TL, but they have a 5x120 pattern so I'm looking into getting adapters. However, most of the adapters I could find say they have a hub bore of either 73.1mm or 74 mm, and the hub bore on my car is of course 64.1mm and the hub bore on my wheels are 72.6mm. If I were to get a pair of adapters that are say, the 73.1mm bore, does this mean they would not fit my wheels because my wheel bore is smaller? It is so frustrating because I can't seem to find adapters with a hub bore smaller than 72.6, but maybe I'm misunderstanding the hub bore thing because why would all these adapters have bores that are so big? Any help in clearing this issue up for me would be greatly appreciated!

Maybe buy wheels that fit your car's bolt pattern and then just get hub centric rings

Yes, they will work, but better to get a wheel adapter that has the same bore diameter 64.1. I've never used the bore adapters on the wheel spacer, but you'll also need an adapter for the Kr5's onto the adapter.
