Post whats better: bigger or smaller overall diameter?

since its immpossible to get the exact same overall diameter (25.69in), would it be better to go slightly bigger or slightly smaller?

smaller:
lower actual mileage
better acceleration
lower top speed
will be revving higher than what the tach says
slower than what speedometer says
better gas mileage (im assuming?)

bigger:
the EXACT opposite of every note from above

i know, i know the differences are soo minute, but still

if i went smaller, it would be 0.23inches smaller

if i went bigger, it would be 0.17inches bigger

i think going smaller would be wise so you keep the weight off, keep the acceleration for everyday driving, and at the end of the day youll have less mileage on the car, which doesnt hurt!

i know im getting really picky here...but what would you guys say? 225's would help in handleing, but i dont want to kill acceleration. im told that the decrease in off the line take offs is extremely noticable. i wonder what the difference in 225/215's would be while taking high speed corners

these are summers btw

Actually the decrease in off the line acceleration is noticeable to some people most likely because they got heavy cast rims which are a crappy brand. I don't feel any difference on my 18" wheels though.

Actually, with smaller diameter tires, you will have more speedo miles at the end of the day, and worse mileage. With smaller diameter wheels, your wheels will require more revolutions to travel the same distance as stock tires.

One thing to look at is with smaller diameter, you will have more room if the car is lowered. Plus if your speedo says you are going 80, you will actually be going slower which can help if you didn't see that snake in the grass.

I would go larger...takes up some of the gap between the tire and fender. Also helps with keeping your mileage down
