Wait...Didnt you say this was your dads car and that he didnt let you drive it? What makes you think he'll let you put rims on it?

autumnfalls, you must consider everything prior to purchasing rims larger than 18"

You will need to drop your car, in order to make the rims actually look good, otherwise your TL will turn into an RDX.

Also, low profile tires are not cheap, and based on my experience, you will be changing them often, they bubble up from a good size pothole hit.

And last but not least, your dad will not be happy, as the ride quality will change!

Wish you luck, peace.

Thats a cool dad. Look in the Photograph Gallery section also in the Tires, Wheels and Suspension section. You'll get some ideas there. My personal favorites for the TL are the Ron Jon Inspyres Liquid Graphites shown here:

you want to put rims on your dad's car that he won't let you drive?...genius!

it's gonna cost you close to $2K for a decent wheel/tire setup.
obviously, the nicer and bigger the wheels, the higher the price.

IMHO, save your money

Patience Grasshoppa; the experts must consider the question before posting a well reasoned response.
