Wanted: factory wheel refinish information 2006 TL

Hello,
The factory rims on my 2006 TL are a bit banged up from all the years of driving in the North East. I've had them refinished once before, but they did a bad job. Can anyone recommend a durable refinishing method or process that I should research and find a service in the North East NJ area? Painting, powder coating, etc?
Thanks

Not sure about your area but if you really want to spend the money powder coating will be the way to go. Where Im located this service is $300-400 for a set of 17inch wheels. Ive painted wheels myself though with good results. If you have curb rash obviously more prep is involved.

Did that include fixing any bends (if applicable)?

Ive brought a total of 18 wheels for refinishing about a year ago to a preferred shop but no where close to you and done in powder coat, thats your best deal for durability. I like this shop because they also refinish the barrel which most refinishers avoid and were only ones able to replicate a special finish on 1 set of rims. I think the quotes here are fairly accurate but mine were a bit less due to volume. Now these prices are likely based on sparkle silver or similar, when you get to the chrome, hypersilver/black chrome expect the costs to be higher.

TB - my price included some minor fixes/blemishes like rash and simple bends but forgot their pricing structure for serious bends but they were only shop that would take on my FUBAR'd specialty rims twisted like pretzels up front and they came out perfect.

I assume the term "refinishing" could be a generic term for various procedures. Sounds like powder coating might be the way to go versus painting. Thanks.

Yes maybe I should have said refurbishing, to me that means cosmetic repairs (curb rash and gouges) and functional repairs (bends/cracks) as well as the application of the finish. The end product should be "as new".

Check ebaY for refinished wheels. Make sure they're OEM's, not aftermarket replacements - especially if you have a 6MT.
