Very tight steering on 05 TL

Did anyone ever experience this? When I got the car the steering was loose (ish) and later it got tighter. I took it in for service and 1) they changed the rack and pinion, next time 2) they changed the power steering pump.. but when I drive it, it is pretty tough. It reminds me of my 69 bug with manual steering.

Has anyone had this problem? I only have 38k on it. I am considering trading it in for an 09, after the "hype", if I cannot get it fixed.

It is not a Type S.. It has the original tires and they are in good condition. The car has been regularly mainted, as well.

Thanks

How are the tire pressure and the alignment?
Check the tires for uneven wear.

Low tire pressure will make the steering wheel harder to turn, as well as improper alignment.

Same for me, it feels like my power steering is dead. I'll take it into the dealer when I have time.

Bro, it looks like when they installed the new rack and pinion, they didn't loosen some bolt on it. so you're goning to have to head back to the Acura dealer to have them loosen it. I just had mines done at Elk Grove Acura in Sacramento last night. Do you hear a whine on Right U turns as well? Let me know if you ocan duplicate this

it used to whine

It used to whine when I turned the steering wheel all the way .. but since the rack & pinion replacement, I haven't heard the whine, but the steering is almost like a non-pwr steering car..

Went to Elk Grove acura last week, after they installed the rack/pinion, it was stiff, i took it back to complain about the stiffness, and they said they forgot to "loosen" up a bolt so the steering would be easier and softer. Ask them about that, it was the under carriage.
