Are you looking to lower? If not I would stick with OEM. I just put front assemblies on my 08 and it rides great. If you go with OEM the part numbers are 51601-SEP-A42 and 51602-SEP-A42. That is the whole Assembly, or a "quick" shock if you will. If you want just the shock itself then it is 51605-SEP-A16 (x2)

If you're not planning on dropping the car too much, and want a performance increase out of the new struts I usually recommend Koni Sports ("Yellows"). We sell quite a few sets, we've done tons of installs in shop, and they've always treated us well! They have rebound adjustments to dial in the ride, a spring perch for 20mm of height adjust-ability, and Koni offers a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects.

You can find them on our site here: Koni Shock - Sport Series - Excelerate Performance - European, Exotic and Japanese Performance Specialists!!

Koni also has their STR T struts ("Oranges") which make for a great set it and forget it type setup since they don't offer the rebound/height adjustments. They still offer a decent performance increase, work well with lowering springs, and they come with the same warranty as the Yellows!

The Oranges can be seen online here: Koni Shock - STR T Series - Excelerate Performance - European, Exotic and Japanese Performance Specialists!!

Good luck, and feel free to send me a PM if you need help getting setup!

AGREED! I'll be replacing mine soon with '07/8 OEM's. Lowering the car is the very last thing I want to do with the condition of the the roads here in the NYC/NJ area, like driving on the moon! Most of the 3G TL owners I've spoken to in this area that lowered their car complain of bottoming out and resulting damage underneath. Depends on the condition of the roads where you live & drive.

Agreed, here in New Hamster folks who lower their cars, TL and non-TL alike, pick up damage on a fairly regular basis, even if they only drive their cars during the non-snowy months. Having lived in the NYC/NJ area before moving up here, I would say our roads are in somewhat better condition *maybe*, however, we have a thing up here called "Frost Heaves" due to all of the freeze/thaw cycles as Spring approaches; a nice frost heave can cross an entire road like a speed bump, or it can heave up just under the middle of a lane. I know three folks who've sustained significant damage (suspension, cracked transmission case, and a bashed in oil pan) from encountering a new heave in the middle of the night.

Hello all,

I am in the market for struts/shocks replacement. Do you know that 51601 & 51602 will works on my 2006 TL? Also, did anyone have lucks with a struts assembly? I really don't like to deal with the spring if I don't have to! Thanks.
