265/35. And remember, rubbing is caused by a whole lot of things...

- Every make/model tire is different
- Drop
- Roll
- Sidewall
- Weight in the back
- Camber

That's why it's so hard to give people exact answers; it's a multi-faceted issue.

^^ tracy you should make this a separate thread because it would be VERY useful to anyone in the future. i wish i had this about 6 months ago i would have gone with vmr for sure!! if you make a separate thread i would just suggest adding weights for some of those sizes

it should maybe be made a sticky! thanks for the info, some of the best looking wheels out there.

Duly noted!
I'll probably update our general thread in the TL subsection with this same post and throw in some weights too for all to see

Thanks for the kind words!

Would VMR wheels require hub rings for 3g tls?

All aftermarket wheels should require hub rings, they're made that way on purpose, that way you can make 1 wheel (with a hub hole that's too big for everything) and fit it to every car with just a ring.

Ohh i see. Any negatives in running hub rings?

None whatsoever. Some guys are complete idiots and don't run them if there is a small gap, but you don't want to be like them, trust me.

When we manufacture our wheels, we actually bring them in as blanks so that our machining shop will custom machine PCD anything from 5x112-5x120 and hub bore anything from 57.1-74.1. The end result? No hub rings needed! Perfect bolt on fitment!

This is true for about 99% of wheels out there for sure!
With our custom machined wheels, they are machined to be a 100% direct fit including hub bore. No need for rings!

Not necessarily. Good quality hub rings will do the job well. Some Audi/VW owners have reported back negative feedback but these are indicative of running ball seat lug bolts and not lug nuts, which our Acuras thankfully do not have.

+1
The VMRs fit perfect to the point that even my tech was impressed with how perfect they fit. No hub rings required. I am still running stock lug nuts as well. Fantastic wheels and they aren't really heavy either. I believe my 19s are maybe 24-25lbs each. OP is looking at 18s so obviously they would be lighter depending on wheel choice.

you will have a little bit of poke with 18x9+30 (i currently have that wheel but i'm lowered). 18x8.5 +35 will be no poke.

also look into vmr 710 18.8 +35, that will be my next wheel if i switch from nurburgring

Nice. The vmr's or Enkei raijin in 18/8.5 +35 shouldn't give the car a 4x4 look right? Can I do 255 40 tire or should I stick with 245 40? What about a 45 series tire would that rub? I'm stock height.

i think you'll be fine with a 255 tire at stock height, but that's just my opinion. i know you for sure would be ok with 245/40

17 inch aftermarket options

Anyone know of any good aftermarket 17inch options for a stock type S? Something strong enough to hold up to nyc roads. I wouldn’t mind going with aftermarket wheelership waffles but I have concerns about them holding up to nyc roads. My oem waffles have taken a beating from nyc roads and most of them have bends to some extent or another.
