Tpms

when mounting new tires do the TPMS sensors or stems have to be replaced? i feel like last time i had my winter tires mounted they tried to tell me i needed new parts and it raised the cost from like ~$80 mount and balance to like ~$150.

i guess what im saying is on our 07+ cars what is needed when mounting new tires and what is not? thanks

Yes and no. Sensors no, but the service kit is dependent upon the existing condition of the parts, but if one wanted, the kit can be had from Rock Auto, $1.33 to $4.48 per wheel including a screw-on core, seal, retaining nut, cap, and if a valve added to the aforementioned parts $4.66 per wheel.

Have changed tires 3 or 4 times and haven't needed any replacement parts, but the daughter's Jeep needed the "kit" on the first tire change as the seal was compromised.
