anyone had both sets? I am not sure I need the higher performance, wonder if there is any ride difference? Thinking if I get 19's maybe the proxes might ride a little better

Most of the tires produced by Toyo are part of the Proxes line, so really you dont have a comparison...I have the proxes T1R's on my G sedan. 245/40/19 front and 275/35/19 rear. They are pretty good, nice ride, quite, gripe well, good tread rating and reported to be great in wet conditions.

Bill, you probably meant Toyo Proxes T1R vs Proxes 4. The T1R is supposedly the better tire between those 2.

IMO, if you're running 19", the tires won't affect much of the ride quality because of the very low sidewalls.

The first few weeks I had my car on Tein's I still had the stock wheels with the shitty EL42's. When I got my 19's I put on Proxy T1-R's and the ride got better. After 15k on them the tread is still pretty good, bu they have gotten slightly louder.

If I remember correctly from the Toyo website, the T1-R is a better dry climate tire and the Proxy 4 is better if you have some rain.
