Tokico HTS install...

So I just bought and installed a set of Tokico HTS shocks. They are a phenomenal improvement over my stock TL-S shocks. I have them paired up with stock springs as I wasn't looking to lower my car any. I got them after looking at the Konis because Excelerate was offering them for $500, and I was on a pretty tight budget.

This isn't my first car with a modded suspension, the previous car had Bilstein sports and H&R sports on it. That car was good, but this much better. I installed them full stiff, which is way to stiff for everyday, but damn the car cornered well! I backed it off one full turn from full stiff, and made a 90 mile trip with reasonable comfort. It feels more neutral now with less understeer. It's still a tad too stiff, so tomorrow I plan on taking another half turn out and trying that before my 200 mile trip next week. As of now, on bumpy concrete slabs it's just a bit to firm, even for me as I prefer a stiffer suspension. My goal is to get it some where between an AP2 S2000 and an E46 M3.

I got to give this site a huge thanks for all the info on installing suspensions and back seat removal. No way I could have accomplished that without the info found here.

I haven't used Koni before so I can't compare, but I can highly recommend the Tokico HTS, as they are also a direct bolt in with no modifications needed to the car.

I'll give you guys an update when after my next adjustment.

I am thinking of getting these as well. I have the dreaded "factory clunk" that is getting really tiring. Did you have that problem as well, and did this upgrade take care of the issue?

Thanks

i just installed these on my '04 TL with Tein H-Techs and they are definitely an improvement over the stock shocks. I have mines set at 2 full turns from full stiff and they are perfect with the H-Techs.

Probably with a knob on top like all the others. It adjusts the damping rate.

you should of received a adjustment tool that you insert in the top of each strut to adjust. there should of also been instructions about it too.

pretty simple. you have to take off the anti-sway bar and back seat, so just adjust them right after you install them before you put the seat back.

Bandit TL - I installed a set of these on my TL this weekend paired with H&R sport springs and noticed that the rear either compressed or rebounded a little hard, and sounded like it was bottoming out. I'm pretty sure it's not though. I readjusted the rear to take it 3 full turns from firm, and now feels a bit better. What do you have your's set to for daily driving? Thanks.

I'm pretty much set to 3 full turns from firmest setting on all four dampners. I like it since I use my TL as my DD. However, once I upgrade my front and rear sway bars I will stiffen the shocks, so I can get full performance from my suspension.
