Tmps

I am getting new wheels and am thinking about not using the TPMS. If I do not mount the TPMS on the new wheels, what type warnings will occur? And how often will they occur? Finally can I shut them off some how? Thanks

ever run low on fuel? same type of alert, it has the same tone and will pop up when you turn the car on, sometimes the car doesn't even realize they aren't in there and it isn't until you drive like 15miles that it will pop up again, you can live with the alert but it takes getting used to... imo it is just easier to get some tpms sensors from one of the online dealers who sell oem parts... or as always ebay

I don't run the monitors in my summer wheels and the allert never has come on when I start the car ... usually anywhere from 2 to 10 blocks of city driving and up to 3 miles if on the highway.. You get a little chime then the MFD shows a TMPS error and you just press "reset" and its gone till the next startup.

Yoy will also see a very small yellowish reminder "TPMS" under the tach thats about 1/8 x 1/4" and hardly noticable. If it is a bother go to the tint shop and get a small scrap id limo tint and put it over the spot.

Hasn't bothered me in 2 years.

Thanks for the response guys. Now if I decide to buy a new set of factory TMPS for the new wheels, should they mount right onto the new wheels? I want to get a 19"X 8.5" or 20" X 8.5" wheel with 225/35/ or 235/35 19 or 20 tires

The tmps messages are annyoing as hell! When I changed out my stock tl-s for the RJ's I drove without my tmps sensors until just last week. What a pain in the ass, everytime the car starts the chime goes off and also you get to deal with the acuralink messages which appear on the navi screen. I know have to find time to go to the dealer and have them delete the system messages. I personally can't stand little annoyances like this so I'm glad I finally have the sensors installed.. I guess it just depends on what your tolerance level is though. I also love having the ability to monitor the pressure electronically... Just another great feature on the TL... now if only I could delete the navi messages without going to the dealer...anyone know if this is possible?

If you want to know how annoying it is, just lower the preassure of one tire and drive for a couple of days. Now just a few psi not flat.

the factory tpms sensors in essence are just valve stems with a small chip lookin thing lol

they should be swappable inside your aftermarket wheels unless you get like a multi piece wheel which will require a different method which is a belt and the tpms sensor goes attached to it inside the wheel

I think I'll buy a set of sensors from Hondaacuraworld. They aren't that expensive anyways. The car will automatically sense and accept the new sensors with out me having to do anything right?
