TL Type S rims?

Hello,

New here. Just bought an 08 TSX and was looking to purchase TL type s rims. Can anyone recommend a good place to purchase online? I figured this is the place to ask. I'm seeing anywhere from $700 to $1200 for oem. Any advice would be great.

For OEM, that sounds like the standard price. If you are ok with Replicas, they go for a few hundred cheaper..
4 - 17" Type S Style Alloy Wheels Rims Fits 2007 2008 Acura TL Dark Hyper Silver | eBay
So far (the only issues commonly known) is the weight discrepancy and slight color difference than the OEM. It weighs more than OEM and is a shade or 2 darker.
You might have some luck searching your local classifieds also

RockAuto sells Keystone replicas that look great but they're a bit more expensive than the eBay ones above.

Thanks. Those look pretty nice.

These also look nice. It is hard to tell the difference between these and the ebay ones so I might just go with the ebay unless there is a reason not to?

How about center caps that match? I just checked rock auto and they don't have them. I can find just regular silver on ebay, but the matching "dark hyper silver" is not easy. Do I also need TPMS sensors? I've never put rims on a car before. Your help is much appreciated.

Just want to point out the obvious in case it isn't obvious - You have purchased an 08 TSX, but have posted and are asking about Type S rims from a TL. If you haven't already you need to sanity check they will fit. I know there is a 0.5" difference in width, but believe the bolt pattern and offset are the same - I have not verified this. You will need TPMS sensors for your TSX otherwise you will continue to have the warning indicator light on your dashboard. You can use the TPMS sensors from your current rims unless you are planning on have two sets of rims. $0.02

Thanks for the advice. I took a look at the tsx forum on here and from what I gathered it is possible. I would only be doing the rims with no lowering of the car or anything. I haven't ordered yet so I will do a little more research before going through with it.

Whether the examples are with the OEM rims or not, at least some version of the setup has been done with various TSX's.

I have OEM TL-S wheels on my TSX.

yes they fit. replicas will also fit (with the stock brakes).

Most replicas are heavier and weaker. Make sure you don't cheap out too much. Buy a wheel with at least a DOT or other highway use rating/certification so you know they've met the minimim road use requirements.

Compared to your stock TSX wheels:
The width and offset are vastly different. But they fit just fine.

Stock TSX, IIRC is 17x7 +55?

3G TL 17" wheels are all 17X8 +45.

So they will move the outer face of the wheel outboard by like .88 (7/8)".

IMO, they look a little dumb on a stock heigjt TSX. Mine was stock height with TLS wheels for 2 days whilst I awaited my coilovers. It looked like I was driving a roller skate.

I am using 225/45/17 tyres. I previously used the stock 215/50/17's without issue as well.
