TL 07 uneven tire pressure

On my new TL07 AT, the TPMS shows that the rear tire on the drivers side consistently shows less PSI than the other 3. This happens within a week of putting enough air in the low tire to equal and/or surpass the other 3 tires. I'm only talking about 2-3 PSI difference. What should I do? Is there a real slow leak?

Thanks

It does sound like a slow leak-- either small nail in the tread (which happened to me), bad tire valve (happened to me many years ago) or bad tire seal. Check the tire visually to see if you can spot a nail; otherwise bring the car back to the service department. Bad valve or bad tire seal should be covered under warranty. A nail hole can be patched ($10-20) if the puncture is in the tread and not in the sidewall; you will not need a new tire if the nail went through the middle of the tread.

Re: PSI

I own a 2007 Acura TL with 2050KM. I also have the same problem with my vehicle. Air pressure is not the same in rear driver side tire. There is about 3 PSI diff. compared to remaining tires. I also find the stock tires to be of poor quality. They dont grip the road too well. Acura should consider installing much better tires on a vehicle that costs $55,000....Canadian.

Nav or non-navi TL??? Non-navi';s have crappier tiers on them. Check for a nail on the tire

First, I'm assuming you have (per the owner's manual) set the tire pressures according to the sticker on the driver's side door post. (On my '07 TLS they reccommend 35 PSI front and 32 PSI rear). So all 4 tires should NOT be showing the same PSI.

Secondly, if you read in the owner's manual, they say the TPMS is not Gospel...in other words, you should be checking your tire pressures with a reliable guage. TPMS is there to alert you when your pressures fall beyond 'acceptable levels'.

That being said, my TPMS are actually displaying the PSI as verified by multiple guages (within 1/2 LB). So in my case they are fairly accurate.

In your case, it seems you do have a slow leak. Since the car is new and under warrantee, you are covered for any repairs (other than a road hazard (NAIL) or bent rim (CURBAGE)). Good Luck...hope they fix it for you soon.
