The "browning" may be caused by the tire dressing, never the less cleaners that are specifically made to clean tires are available.

I have been using Eagle One's "Tire Cleaner" for many years. I cannot vouch for any other brands but I love Eagle One's T.C., it takes the "brown" right off.

I simply use the same stuff I use to clean the car.. just soap and water with a brush.

Then dress it with Meguiars Endurance.. this stuff lasts a very long time and keeps the tires black.

I've been using Westley's Bleach White to clean the tires withh good success. And I'll second the vote on Meguiar's Endurance tire gel. It stays shiny and black even after driving in the rain for a few days.

Armour All tire dressing causes your tires to go brown.

Yeah I noticed that too. Many tires turn brown but I think the dressing makes dirt go into the rubber and when it rains they dry and look stained.

I heard that the tires turn brown due to exposure from the sun.

I used to have this one black baseball cap that turned brown after I left it sitting in my rear dash after a few weeks in the sun.

Well, that's just my guess.
