Hello, this is my first time posting here.
I just bought a new set of rims for the summer. They are 18x9.5 +35 and I need help choosing tires. Whats the best set I can get?

I am on stock suspension and I really don’t want it to rub.

There is no such a thing as one "best tire"; what are your needs, wants, and desires for tires?

As for size, the stock 18" tire size of 235/40 R18 should fit without rubbing, but with 9.5" wide wheels, I wouldn't place any bets on anything wider (say, a 265/35 R18) clearing your fenders.

thanks for your input, and yes I was talking about tire size not brand or anything else. So you think that I won’t be in trouble if I buy the 235/40?

My gut says you'll be okay with the stock 235/40 R18 size, especially if your car isn't lowered.

does the offset of +35 change anything? Does that mean I will have to be careful when driving?

235 is going to be way skinny on a 9.5" wheel

255/35/18 is a more viable size.

Yes.
You should probably figure out how widths and offsets work. You've chosen a very agressive wheel fitment

Isn’t that going to be too wide like horseshoez said? And when you said that this set up is aggressive, what is the perfect set up for 18 inch rims for you.

thanks for the input guys it’s really appreciated, Im new to this game.

Off the top of my head, the stock 18" wheel size is 18x8 (or maybe 18x8.5) with an offset in the 35-40mm range.

Stock is 17x8 18x8 +45

9.5 +35 will move the wheel face a massive 29mm outboard.

At stock height, it will look like a rollerskate. And on big bumps, you might hit the fender.

yes, 255 will be more problematic than 235. But 235 on a 9.5" wheel isn't advisable.

8.5" wide and +35 is about as much as the stock fenders will safely hold, IIRC.

All this is objective.

8.5+40 or 45 will make the fitment look more natural at stock height. But...looks are subjective.

I was thinking the same thing so I went to TireRack and checked. I was surprised to find the recommended rim width range for 235/40 R18 tires is 8.0" to 9.5". Go figure.

So you do you guys think that a 245/40/18 is a good middle ground ?

Last thing I want to do is mess up the rims lol

245/40/18 is a little too tall

Why do you want that rim size in particular?

8.5 opens up so much more ease

because I’m being offered a great deal on a set of niche wheels, now with everything you guys said I can’t stop debating whether I should get them or not

A 9.5 isnt a bolt on fitment for this car.

And *I* don't think it will look very good. In that vein...you're just getting a good deal on a part that's going to put you in a disadvantage.

Like buying a pair of shoes that fit like clown shoes only because they were on sale. KnowwhatImean?

If you need or want wheels...probably just a good idea to buy something that works.

If you haven't bought them yet, the answer is easy, NO!
