Tire Stretch-Ability
Hello Everyone,
Does anyone have experience with the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires?
How are they for performance and stretching abilities?
I am looking to install 235/35/19 tires on a 9.5 rim and wanted a few opinions for fitment by tire brands.
I heard that Falken 452's with the rim guard is barely a stretch because the rim guard absorbs abit of the rim lip where other tires without a deeper guard will cause the face tend to poke out more.
The only reason I ask is because I can get a set of Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's slightly used for $300 vs getting new Falkens at $600 from discount tire direct shipped to my installer.
I was on tyrestretch.com and looked photos of 235/35/19 on a 9.5 width were the birds eye view of the Falkens looked literally like no stretch while other pictures of 235 on a 9.5 rim looked to be far stretches.
Looking for your experience and input on tire brands and fitment.
Worst case scenario is that I go with 245/35/19 that will pretty much be almost square to the rim face.
Photos appreciated.

I have them on my E55. Stock size NOT stretched. They seem to be a favorite among road and track, motortrend, etc for their performance. I am also happy with them. As far as stretching them, I can't help u with those specific tires. I doubt anyone ever really stretches those because they are such an expensive performance tire. Most stretch falkens, nankang, hankook, nexen, etc. I had 235-35-19 nexen n3000 stretched on a 9.5 rim. I hated those tires, they were loud and rode like crap, but IMO that tire on that size rim isn't much of a stretch. Search thru my older posts, I'm sure u can find pics there, if your Intrested.

havent heard much about stretching the Michelins. i stick with either nexen or toyo for stretching. the n3000 is a good tire to stretch but like some people said above it sounds and drives like shit. i just switched to a 225 n7000 on a 10" wheel and they are quieter and drive much nicer.

Yeah the price was insane it was hard to pass up.
I actually went into a buddy's wheel shop and stretched a few tires.
Dunlops, Falkens, Federals, Nitto Invo and some Toyo's did stretch well.
I did notice that the tires that stretched best did not have the super hard reinforced sidewall.
The best tires to stretch were high performance all season tires and luxury performance tires made for comfort.
Stiff tires with hard sidewalls wanted to separate before they gave abit so increased air pressure was required to hold the bead.
They made the same diameter seem even smaller because the reluctance to stretch which made the lip stick out more.
