I've purchased a set of Enkei EKM3 wheels, 18x8, +40mm in Hyper Silver. But I need opinions on the tire size. I will be purchasing Continental Extreme Contact tires.
My car;
Stock 06 TL, AT, WDP, currently with OEM tires and wheels.
My idea is 255/40 or 245/40.

Either will work. The 255/40 will be a softer ride, but they look a little tall, and your turn-in won't be as good. They also balloon. I've had those exact tires in that exact size (just on a wider wheel). My recommendation is the 245/40 for sure, if I'm choosing between the two, it just looks more right. However, on an 8" wheel 235 is really the right size.

This diagram clearly shows 225 as square, and 235 is closest to that. You can also see that 255 is clearly too big for an 8" wheel.

I have 255/40/18 DWS06 on my 18x8 Aspec wheels and they fit/look great!

Just be aware that if you are lowered more than ~0.5" and put a lot of weight in the trunk and/or back seat, you might get some occasional rubbing.
