Tire size question (general question)

Hi, I have a question in general regarding tires...For example, let's say that a car currently had:

Bridgestone EL-42's and the size was 215-55-17

If the customer decided to switch to a:

Falken 512 with a size of 225-50-17

then would that be a problem at all? Unfortunately Falken doesn't make the tire for 215-55-17, so in switching to the wider tires, would anything go wrong with the car? sensor problem? thanks in advance for your opinions...

Tire size 215-55-17, changed to 225-50-17 you will have a difference in your speedo of 1.7%, meaning if your speedo says 60 mph you are actually travelling 59 mph.....

Not much of a difference.... 235/50R17 would be closer. Be wary, Plus zero sizing may have rubbing issues on the wheel well.

Wider tires will not necessarily harm the ride. Try to maintain the stock diameter. Stock tire size 235/45/17/ is 25.3" tall. If you go wider, yes the aspect ratio will have to decrease to maintain stock diameter. Which means less sidewall.
