Tire Size

It's time for some new tires, and I'm not very good with tire sizes, but I've began to understand a bit. I have A-Specs, and was thinking a size of 255/40/18 all around? If that doesn't sound like a good size, then please list them. Right now I think they are 245/45/18 all around. Thanks guys

^+1 and Luketic you will be fine with 255/40 for you 18" A-Specs as well. Rim width is the same for the 17" and 18 OEM rims unless your A-Specs are the 8.5" from 2004 like I have. But either way you are good with the 255/40 width/aspect ratio.

I think they will be too large for the car as they are 26" tall. The OE Michelin's were 25.6" so they will be @ 1/2" larger in diameter and if indeed the present size is 245/45-18, they are enormous at 26.7" or 1" larger than OEM.
IMHO, stick with 245/40 in 18" diameter.

Okay guys, thanks for all the help. Im going with the 255/40/18 all around. Ive narrowed it down to Continental ExtremeContacts, and Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS Pole Positions. What would you recommend between those 2? Thanks!

You can review user survey results here on tirerack.com - http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...jsp?type=UHPAS

Not sure if you get any of the white stuff during the winter months where you live but the Conti's are rated higher overall (with significantly more miles reported) and significantly higher for winter/snow conditions.

If you search here on AZ for a long time the Contis were raved about by many, but it seems like there are some who are complaining about soft sidewalls. We have the Contis mounted on my daughters 09 Accord and haven't had any issues at all - granted neither of my daughters drive like NASCAR wannabes. They have performed well in the snow and we even saw an uptick in MPG over the OEM Michelin tires. I have no experience with the Bridgestones.
