Tire size for 18x8 Aspec rims

Are they able to run 225/40 tires for a 18x8 Aspec?

Why 225?

Recommended is 235, which I think is too small, I went with 245.....I would’ve done 255.....

I'm on 225/40/18 on 8.5 a-specs, only because I'm lowered on coilovers and 245 gave me paper sized clearance.
If you're not really low go with 245, looked nice and beefy especially when I was on Tein S tech.
