Tire rotation problems?

Just got back from getting my tires rotated and balenced for the first time. The car before the change felt tight and performed perfectly. Now any time I go over say 70MPH the car feels like a dam big american car floating all over the road. The steering wheel moved in my hands without me touching it on all but a smooth road. I had this problem in my Maxima before as well. Any sugestions?

Check your tire pressure, and have them re-balance it if it continues. It could just be that the tire treads are at different levels and need some time to wear down evenly in their new positions.

Interesting tire issue

Moving this somewhat generic thread over to wheels and tires where I will follow it with interest.

I would agree that a check of the pressure and a possible rebalance are in order. The 6mt uses different pressure front to rear but I believe that the AT uses the same. Also, make sure that the shop is using torque sticks and not just hammering away with the air wrench. Lastly, are you using the stock EL42's? There are a lot of threads about vibration probs and cold spotting as well as a "bad batch" of EL42's that were particularly prone to vibration. Though kind of unlikely, it could be that you have one or two of the "bad batch" tires and by moving them to the front, the inherent vibration issue is now manifesting itself. It may take some work but you should be able to get it resolved. If the dealership doesn't seem to have the right expertise, consider checking Tirerack.com for some of their "recommended installers" in your area. That might be a good way to locate a small specialty tire place that will continue to work the issue to resolution. Good luck!
