Tire Question H or V speed Rating

I am currently leasing an 01 TL and the lease expires the end of August. I am currently in need of new tires and since I want to keep cost down was looking to go with H rated tires. Does anyone know how closely they look at the tires when I turn in the car? Also, does the ride quality change much with Hs over Vs? Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

although i cant directly answer your question, when i went and got new tires put on for the first time, about a month ago, costco said they could only put on the V rated ones because that is what the manufacturer put on the car. they said i could buy the H rate, but they could not put it on.

I've been running Kumho 711's which are H-rated tires, for almost 2 years now - I'm very happy with them. I was going through Z-rated tires in 5K, but these H-rated ones I get 15K out of.

Cheers!

V rated is a minimum recommended speed rating. There is no difference in ride quality.

Its very interesting to note but my friend owned a volvo and when he returned the car, he had some getto tire on, they charged him $100 extra bucks for that!!!

I put the H Rated Kuhmos on ours. Tire shop never questioned it, and I will definitely not drive the car above 130, so for me it was a no brainer. However, if you are returning the car and it is leased, I would probably put the V rated tires on it to avoid them trying to rip you off.

I’m not sure what they will do if you have H-rated tires on your car when you bring it back from lease, but I would not use them on my car. V-rated tires have stiffer sidewall, than H-rated. So car handling and steering response is different, not that sporty. But the ride is softer with H-rated tires.

I have to metion that ridec is sportier with V-rated ones.
Sorry for miscommunication.

Buy some OEM tires off of someone for $50 each.

If you have a good relationship with your salesman (provided you get another Acura from him/ her) they will overlook all kinds of things on a lease return. My Mom's Acura had Good Year tires, scracthes on the bumper and glass, and it was a little dirty inside. They didn't even mention those or said they will charge her for it, etc.. But the thing is she bought another car from them.
