I have an 05 TL and need to get tire soon. Since im getting new tire and been reading that you can get more side wall protection with different size.

Stock: 235/45-17

what side can i get to get a little more side wall protection, so i dont scuff my wheel?

245/45/17 will throw you wheel diameter off a little bit if you are going 60, your speedometer will be reading about 59, but it will give you more protection. If you use 245/40/17, it will throw it off to, but it it will be reading slower, so if you are going 60 according to the speedometer, you will be actually traveling at 61.4 MPH.
