Tire Pressure?

Tire Pressure?
What is the concensus for tire pressure on an 06 TL auto with the standard Michelin Piliot 17 inch tires? My dealer is saying they recommend 35psi in low profile tires. The owners manual says 32-33 psi. The wall of the tire says 44 psi maximum (I believe). It's confusing trying to decipher the varying opinions. Thanks.

1) Easy answer: Use listed numbers from driver's door sticker.
2) To increase ride firmness, tire sidewall stiffness and mpg slightly, you can increase tire pressures. However, do not exceed 42 psi when measured COMPLETELY COLD unless you are in an autocross event (and then remember to bring the pressure back down).
3) To decrease understeer, put in higher front tire pressure than rear. The stock 6M TLs recommend higher front tire pressure than rear.
You can experiment to see what pressures make car feel best to you. Just don't go below 30 (excessive tire wear, vague & sloppy handling) or above 42 (I've seen reports of twitchy handling at freeway+ speeds, and an increase in pressure lowers resistance to impact damage should you hit a curb or pothole the wrong way). In my case, with a stock 5A, I run with 35 or 36 on front and 33 or 34 on rears.

Interesting that the 06 Auto Navi model are now 33 psi front and 32 pis rear tires. The sticker on my 05 Auto Navi model has 32 front and rear. I think I will increase the fronts by 1 psi the next time I am checking the tires.
