Tire inflation PSI on Type "S" a-spec
Hey guys,
one of the infaltion sensors on my TL Type "S" is reading low, always kept the tires at 32 psi but when i looked at the sticker in the door jam i saw this:
Tire size: 235/40 R18
cold PSI
260 kPa 38 PSI
240 kPa 35 PSI
what's the "kPa"stand for? which one do i need? 38 or 35?
Why did the car come from the dealer with 32 PSI?
Thanks!!!

On my 2005 Tl A-spec.....exact same 18"rims....it recommends 39psi front and 36psi rear. I keep mine to that spec and fill with nitrogen. Disregard the kilopascal units unless your in Britan.....its like reading kmph and mph, same thing diff units of measure.

correct tire pressure for 18" a-spec wheels
The Right COLD PRESSURE for 235/40-18 tires on a 3G TL
2004 39 psi front / 36 psi rear
2005 35 psi front / 32 psi rear
2006 35 psi front / 32 psi rear
2007 38 psi front / 35 psi rear
2008 38 psi front / 35 psi rear
This is valid for any 18 inch wheels with 235/40-18 tires on a TL. Type-S or Not it doesn't matter, the pressure is determined by car weight that's why the same tire needs different pressure in different years of the TL.
You need to check your tires BEFORE driving One Mile
check them at least every week, the pressure varies with the temperature.
I have used Nitrogen and Air in different tires at the same time in my car and looking very closely to the TPMS readings, they're actually very alike, temperature rises, pressure rises. But if Formula1 fill it's tires with N then there must be something.
