Time for new tires

Hey guys,

While I was waiting at the service dept for them to finish up the 30K, the service manager came up and asked me, "Mike, how long have you had those tires?". I replied, "3 years, I've never changed them". He gave me a weird look and said, "Well...you should probably change them ASAP".

When my car rolled up, he showed me the penny test. Sure enough, Abe's head showed up on all 4 tires. So basically, I'm in the market for new tires .

Since I need to change them, I'm looking for grippier tires. The stock ones were quiet, but they had absolutely no grip. Do you guys have any suggestions? If so, please post away. Also, my car is an '02 TL-S. Thanks!

I had these lousy Mishelins and after some research replaced them with Bridgestone Turanza LS-V Tire Rack cares them). They beat Mishelins hands down in every aspect except, may be steering responce. These tires are much quiter, grippier them Mishelins. I have 2000TL and my tire size 16". I'm not sure if Bridgestone makes your size, check that.

yield, thanks for the advice, I'll look into them. Your GF is pretty close to me, I'm located in Aliso Viejo, about 10 min from Mission Viejo .

mlionel, I'm looking for tires specifically for gripping and handling. I'm not really worried about ride noise, as I usually play my music loud enough that it'll drown out the noise .

fortunate,
Check Tire Rack testing and compare to select what you desire. That is what I did. Turanzas were top rated over Mishelins, Conti, Dulop, etc.
Good luck.
