thinking about 5 zigen mk-05 or 06

im thinking of going with the 17" right now...

i called wheeloptions and told them that our TL-S stock offset is 55....

he claims 43 offset will have no issues at all....is this BS or legit?
he actually said this is better for performance? does this make sense?

thanks for the info

well, what rim width are we talking about? offset is meaningless if you don't have the context (which is the rim width).

Why would a difference in offset give you better performance? The higher the offset, the more the wheel/rim will sit inside the fender, the less, the more it will stick out. Depending on your width like Stan said, the +43 might work without rubbing. The stock rims are 16x6.5 with a +55 offset, If you get 17x6.5 and +43, that might cut it kinda close. I have 18x7 with +45 and it doesn't rub and I still have my tabs. I've also heard that Racing Hart EVOs are made in Taiwan and only the 3 pieces are made in Japan.

http://www.groupbuycenter.com/buy.asp?row_id=6561

how do you think it will on a TL?....you think it will make my rims looks smaller cause it has a lip ? im planning to stick with 50 series too...

thanks for the input again!

better then stock, or just keep stock??

17x7 with +43 is really cutting it close IMO. I've just check 5 Zigen and that's all the offsets available, so it's up to you what you want to do. The rims looks pretty good, but the universal lug pattern make it look a little cheap, kinda like.......universal, not custom. I would go 18's though.

i think a couple of people have asked for 17x7s lately, and someone said they read the sticky and it sounded like it did not work. if you want to compare a 17x7/43 with a stock cl-s setup (same 215/50 tires), the new wheels will be 12mm farther out than stock. that's like one-half inch! now if you had enough clearance, then that's cool (also considering honda went overboard keeping the rim narrow and the offset high that you can get a slightly lower offset and still be good). the problem for me is that a 7" wide rim only calls for a 205 or 215 tire but most try 225s. so if you are a stickler for that, then it will matter.

maybe tell us your budget, rim style and size requirements and we can throw some wheels at you...

50 series tires is too big, 45 is ok, but might rub and cost too much. 40 is more common and cheaper than 45. Ride is pretty much the same until you hit a ditch or pothole.

50 or 40 series is pretty much the same difference. that budget won't get you a super nice wheels but you can probably get a lot of generics out there. just look around.

I've seen 17" 5-Zigen Inperio M-05 on a TL before, they seem to fit. Not sure how much it rubs though. The offset is also 43.
