Question Are these regular TL wheels? Will they fit a TLS?

Hey guys, someone I know is selling these wheels with winter tires. I have a TL-S but these rims appear to be the regular TL rims.

Any idea if they fit my TLS with Brembo brakes? I'm interested in winter rims because I don't want to use my stock TLS wheels in the winter.

All 3rd Gen TL wheels, fit all 3rd Gen trims/models/years.

So TL (base or MT) wheels fit the TL-S; and TL-S wheels fit the TL (base and MT).

Stock TL/TL-S wheel spec is 17 x 8;+45 offset; 5 x 114.5 bolt pattern.

Just to clarify - yes.

Let me put it another way:

All TL OE wheels from 2004 - 2008 fit ALL TL's and/or TL-S's from 2004 - 2008. There are no exceptions.

Although the wheels are interchangeable, just remember, the TPMS sensors will only fit '06 and newer wheels, so if an '04-'05 wheel is installed on the '06-'07-'08, the sensors can't be mounted in the normal position. Getting a little off subject, but for future referance, the spare wheel is different for a car equipped with Brembos, compared to a regular TL, 17" to 16".

Well, that reply is certainly useful; maybe we ought to keep it in the archives for future reference.

Hey turbonut, not to go against your post, but you are certain that the TPMS can't be installed on an '04 wheel right? I just contacted some guy about buying these wheels and this is what he told me:
Rims are from an '04. Dealer told me they fit up to '08 but don't have the tire pressure monitor. This can be installed.
Obviously, he is trying to sell them so I would believe you before I trust him.

Also, do you know if the TPSM can be disabled? I'm reading mixed reports around the net.

I just read some other posts suggesting that the newer wheels have a location for the TPMS because the wheel is already pre-balanced to counter the weight of the TPMS unit. Some people say that the wheel just needs to be rebalanced when the TPMS is installed. Any thoughts to this?

I also confirmed that there is no (easy, reasonable) way to disable the TPMS so the light will come on each time you start the car and drive I guess.

I have an '04 and there is a ring around the base of the valve stem, and that looks like it would inhibit the locking nut to sit flat on the wheel, and also it doesn't look like any room to tighten the sensor down, but have never tried to. When a sensor is used, the wheel is balanced in the normal manner and you'll have no problems. If you get the wheels and the sensors don't fit, you can strap them to the inside of the wheel and they will send a signal.

If you look down the page you can see the sensor adapter and how it's strapped to the inner part of the wheel:

I believe there has been some writeups on the Forum.

i have an 05 tl with no TPMS on it and looked at an 07 woth the TPMS and the rim is different where the TPMS goes is made to fit the sensor.
remember is only a press. sensor the only thing is gonna do is show the light on, without it. it shouldnt be a big deal if u ask me.
If its important to u just look at that site Turbonut posted. there shoult be some aftermarket braket or even sensor u can strap on
